Sleepless Night Photomarathon

During the most talked about event taking place on Miami Beach, participants were assigned three topics to photograph during Sleepless Night; Indoor Activity, Outdoor Activity and Crowd Scene. The winning entries listed below will be exhibited in Miami Beach City Hall's 4th Floor Gallery during Art Basel/Miami Beach, 2009.

Sleepless Night Photomarathon
November 7-8, 2009

On Monday, November 16, 2009 the judges of the Sleepless Night Photomarathon met to review the submitted photographs.

The judge’s panel was comprised by Scott Weber - Associate Professor of Photography Barry University, Chendo Pérez - President of Fotomission and Pavlova M. Greber - Executive Director of Fotomission. Present on behalf of the City of Miami Beach were Mary Heaton - Grants and Operations Administrator and Gary Farmer - Cultural Affairs Program Manager.

After a careful and rigorous consideration of each of the participants’ images the judges disqualified Zone One – North Beach in the first round of judging. Very few participants registered in Zone One, and of those, none met the criteria requirements of the contest.

The images that remained for competition were those of:
Zone Two-Collins Park
Zone Three-City Center, Lincoln Road, Espanola Way
Zone Four-Ocean Drive & Washington Avenue

The judges considered the artistic and aesthetic values of the images as well as the technical aspects of the image capture. Based on these criteria the award of the jury is as follows:
